SOCCER DISQUALIFICATION GUIDELINES
A.
Physical misconduct:
Your report on #2 will
begin: “The (player, coach, other) was
disqualified for physical misconduct for violation of NFHS rule (insert from
below).”
Rule
12-8-3 a, exhibiting violent conduct.
Rule
12-8-3 d, committing serious foul play involving a penal foul with excessive
force.
Rule
12-8-3 e, spitting at an opponent.
Rule
12-8-3 f, spitting at a teammate or game official.
Rule
12-8-3 h, leaving the team area to enter the field where a fight or altercation
is taking place.
B.
Verbal misconduct:
Your report on #2 will
begin: “The (player, coach, other) was
disqualified for verbal misconduct for violation of NFHS rule (insert from
below).”

12-8-3 b, taunting
Rule
12-8-3 g, using insulting, offensive or abusive language or gesture.
C.
All other misconduct:
Your report on #2 will
begin: “The (player, coach, other) was
disqualified for other misconduct for violation of NFHS rule (insert from
below).”
Rule
12-8-2 a, any delayed, excessive or prolonged act(s) by which a player(s)
attempts to focus attention upon themselves and/or prohibits a timely restart
of the game.

12-8-2 b, Subsequent caution by a player.
Rule
12-8-3-c, Subsequent caution to a coach or bench personnel and substitutes.
Rule
12-8-3 d, committing serious foul play for technical application of the
following:
1.
Denial
of an obvious goal scoring opportunity by deliberately handling the ball.
2.
Denial
of an obvious goal scoring opportunity by committing an offense punishable with
a free kick.
Rule
12-8-4-a, A coach may be disqualified either for team misconduct or for bench
misconduct that cannot be attributed to a specific individual.
Rule
12-8-4, a coach may be disqualified under this rule for demonstrating
irresponsible behavior under Law 5 of soccer’s Laws of the Game, powers and
duties of the referee. As allowed by
NFHS Rule 5-3-2 g, The Head/Center Referee shall have the power to make
decisions on any point not specifically covered in the (high school) rules.
