Southern California Soccer Officials Association Policies

1.   SCSOA’s mission is to provide officials and to promote good sportsmanship and

fair play while keeping safety as the highest priority.

2.    Any member is welcome at any SCSOA Board meeting.

3.    We as officials work for the schools we referee and we are not to consider ourselves

       above the schools.

4.    Only certified individuals are to receive High School assignments.

5.   Certification can be accomplished by attending sessions in your own Unit or

another Unit’s offering the same session you may have missed in your Unit.

Proof of attendance will be required by your own Unit.

6.    Certification means following the Code of Ethics given to SCSOA Instructors for

       all officials.

7.    To be certified, means applying High School Rules as instructed to do so by

SCSOA Instructors and not overriding Federation Rules with USSF or NISOA

       laws, rulings or interpretations.

8.    Units are to deal with their own disciplinary problems, however, charges could

be brought before the main body (SCSOA) if necessary.

9.    SCSOA’s goal is to create a more professional image for all officials and to

maintain a high level of professionalism in its approach to playoffs and its

       assignments.
