Welcome to the home page of the Southern California Soccer Officials
Association of San Diego - we referee high school soccer games
in San Diego and Imperial Counties under contract with the California
Interscholastic Federation San Diego Section (CIF-SDS).
SCSOASD is a not for profit association governed by an all-volunteer board.
We are always in need of qualified referees and encourage
any of you who have friends that are not
already officiating high school soccer to contact us.
Our season runs from late November to early March. Some
significant dates may be listed on the Calendar
or discussed on the More Info page below left.
SCSOASD uses an on-line service for assignments and communicates
primarily through email. You can find more information on the
assignment process under the Ref Scheduling button on the left.
To see the differences between CIF National
Federation Soccer Rules and the Laws of the Game click
here. In addition to the specific links to the left, go to
the More Info link for certain referee procedures including Disqualifications
(red cards/send-offs), tournament information and general information
on SCSOASD.
This season we are doing something different
with some of our more remote locations. Go to the Ref Scheduling
link to the left to see self-assigning locations.

Bob's September 18, 2007 Letter
To All:
It is again that time to get ready for the upcoming 2007-2008
high school soccer season.
Training Calendar:
Our first meeting this year will be a combined all member meeting
and training session I. This meeting will be at Scripps Ranch
High School on Wednesday, September 26, 2007. The meeting will
be held in the Performing Arts Center and will start at 7:00 PM.
Scripps Ranch H. S. is located at 10410 Treena Street, San Diego,
CA 92131.
The localized training sites (south bay, east county, north county,
coastal and central) will be announced at this meeting. The rules
test will be given at the local training sites. Remember CIF certification
mandates that you attend annual training. A record of attendance
is sent to the CIF Office.
Money Matters:
We meet with CIF tomorrow to discuss a new contract (3 years).
As of now there is no change to dues or your game fee for this
year, but our insurance renewal is still unknown. Therefore, please
bring cash or a check payable to "SCSOA San Diego" in
the amount of $100.00, representing your dues and first assignment
fee deposit.
Assignments:
We are again using arbiter.net to manage all high school assignments.
Art Mitchell, Scott Zuckerman and myself will be our three regional
assignors, based on school conferences/leagues. Their responsibilities
are to liaison with their respective schools and manage those
game assignments. I will still oversee the arbiter program and
liaison with individual referees. Art and Scott will be on hand
at the September 26th meeting to help me answer all of your questions.
Arbiter:
If you plan on doing high school games this year, please enter
your account on thearbiter.net, and change your status to ready,
if you have not already done so.
New Members Wanted:
This email has been sent to everyone who worked last year and
the year before. I have noticed from my attendance at youth tournaments
and association meetings that there are several new referees in
the area. Please, recommend "high school" to your fellow
referees from youth, amateur and/or college games. Bring a friend
with you to the first training session! Please forward this e-mail
to any referee that should be doing high school games. Send your
comments to Bob at scsoasd@yahoo.com or call Bob at (858) 695-0596.
Note: If you have moved or are unable to do high assignments please
advise me with a reply email.
Thank you,
Bob
